Reflection
The grade that I think I deserve for the work that I created during this last proposal is an A. I worked really hard on trying to not only create pieces that were aesthetically pleasing but also to broaden my strengths in painting. I think that I learned a lot about my painting strengths as well as weaknesses.
I tried to paint different landscapes in my paintings, when normally I would just paint a person in a floating background. I think that trying to go outside of the box with my painting abilities has been really successful because it lead to more understanding of depth and backgrounds in pictures.
My first painting had a theme of angels, and I tried to keep that theme throughout my next painting as well, of a woman in the middle of a forest, and then slowly progressed into making my third painting of a tree and a sunset/sunrise in the background. My last and final painting was also natural, with rain represented with paint slaps and drips.
Overall, I think that trying something different helped me come up with more ideas about my initial proposal. I feel most successful with my third painting (in the series of 4) because it had a foreground and a background, something I have struggled with achieving ever since my first painting.
